In 2019, Tra Bouscaren (ASU Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Arts & Performance) founded the Expanded Media Lab as a network of professors and artists who believe in the power of creative collaboration to build community. The Expanded Media Lab cultivates post-disciplinary play across an array of creative research practices. We offer free or low-cost workshops, media literacy outreach, experimental exhibitions/performances, guerrilla projection events, and an artist fellowship program. Our group's name shortens to 'eXMeLab', indicating a move away from "me-centric" culture. To that end, all works in this show represent a collaboration between at least two artists. Some of the artists collaborating together have never met in person.
